Read along as you listenJack and Lisa are going to a restaurant for dinner. It is a nice Italian restaurant in the center of town.
They walk inside and a waiter greets them. "Good evening! Do you have a reservation?" he asks.
"Yes, we do. The name is Johnson," says Jack.
"Of course, Mr. Johnson. Please follow me." The waiter leads them to a table near the window. He gives them two menus.
Lisa opens the menu and reads it carefully. "Everything looks delicious! What are you going to have?" she asks Jack.
"I think I'll start with the tomato soup," says Jack. "And then maybe the grilled chicken with vegetables."
"That sounds good. I'm going to have the Caesar salad and the pasta with mushroom sauce," says Lisa.
The waiter comes back. "Are you ready to order?" he asks.
"Yes, please. Could I have the tomato soup and the grilled chicken?" says Jack.
"And I'd like the Caesar salad and the mushroom pasta, please," says Lisa.
"Excellent choices. And what would you like to drink?"
"Could we have a bottle of sparkling water, please?" asks Jack.
"Of course. I'll be right back with your drinks."
While they wait for their food, Jack and Lisa talk about their day. The restaurant is warm and comfortable. Soft music plays in the background.
The waiter brings their first courses. "Here is your tomato soup, sir, and your Caesar salad, madam. Enjoy your meal!"
"Thank you," they say together.
The soup is hot and flavorful. The salad is fresh and crispy. They eat slowly and enjoy every bite.
When they finish their main courses, the waiter asks, "Would you like to see the dessert menu?"
Lisa smiles. "Yes, please!"
They decide to share a chocolate cake. It is rich and sweet — the perfect end to a wonderful meal.
"Could we have the bill, please?" asks Jack.
The waiter brings the bill. Jack pays with his credit card and leaves a generous tip.
"That was a lovely dinner," says Lisa as they walk out into the cool night air. "We should come here again."
"Definitely," agrees Jack with a smile.
